What is ACT Therapy?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you manage difficult thoughts and emotions while continuing to move towards what matters to you.
Rather than trying to avoid difficult feelings, ACT helps you respond to them differently and make choices that support the life you want to live.
ACT therapy can help you:
- Manage difficult thoughts and emotions
- Be less caught up in worry, overthinking or self-criticism
- Develop greater self-compassion
- Understand what matters to you
- Take practical steps towards positive change
- Build skills you can use in everyday life

ACT can support you to respond differently to difficult experiences and stay connected to what is important to you.
