NSQHS Standards
Setting the National benchmark for safety and quality
The National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards provide a nationally consistent framework to ensure every patient receives safe, high-quality care at Fullarton Clinics private psychiatric hospital.
Fullarton Clinic is fully accredited to the NSQHS Standards (Second Edition), which cover:
- Clinical Governance – Systems to maintain and improve safety and quality
- Partnering with Consumers – Working with patients, carers, and families in care design and delivery
- Preventing and Controlling Infections - Maintaining hygiene standards, ensuring no outside food is bought into the hospital (to reduce contamination risk), ensuring staff do not attend to work if unwell.
- Medication Safety - Ensuring strict management of medication dispensing and storage.
- Comprehensive Care – Holistic, coordinated care that meets each patient’s needs
- Communicating for Safety – Effective communication across the care team
- Blood Management
- Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration
